Job description
The Laboratory of Chemical Analysis headed by Prof. Lynn Vanhaecke (http://www.vvv.ugent.be) is looking for a highly motivated post-doc with experience and a proven track record in contemporary metabolomics including multivariate data analysis. The main applications will involve the implementation of hyphenated technologies to increase the coverage of our current multi-biofluid high-resolution mass spectrometry based metabolomics platform and to apply the aforementioned technologies in different projects within and outside Ghent university related to animal and human health. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, engage in existing and new collaborations (including contract research with companies), and assist with training of master and PhD students.

Profile of the candidate

  • The candidate possesses a strong training in high-resolution mass spectrometry based metabolomics and multivariate data analysis.
  • PhD in a relevant discipline and 0-3 years of postdoctoral experience is preferred.
  • The candidate has an excellent publication record in peer-reviewed international journals.
  • Candidates with experience in MWAS or equivalent will be given preference.
