The scope of the division’s research spans both pure and applied biological sciences, with our talented young faculty working at the intersections and frontiers of the following areas:

  1. Nanobiotechnology, nanotoxicology and environmental biotechnology
  2. Bioinformatics, biophysics, and bioengineering
  3. Stem cell biology and cancer biology
  4. Ecology and evolutionary biology
  5. Microbiology and Parasitology

Eligibility & Selection Criteria for the PhD programme: 

The Biological and Life Sciences division, which forms part of Ahmedabad University’s School of Arts and Sciences, is proud to announce the relaunch of its Ph.D. programme and would like to officially invite applications for the session beginning in August 2018.

Prospective candidates are required to have a Masters degree in any area of basic or applied biological science (MSc/BTech/MBBS/MTech) with a good academic record and a minimum of 60 percent marks in order to be eligible, while those with CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/ DST fellowships are likely to be given precedence.
