Autoimmune Disease Principal Scientist Job Requirement @ Immunocore UK

Autoimmune Disease Principal Scientist Job Requirement @ Immunocore UK: Immunocore is the world’s leading T cell receptor (TCR) company, a global biotech striving to transform medical practice in the most challenging disease areas. The Company is focused on delivering first-in-class biological therapies to patients, using its highly innovative soluble TCR platform, and ImmTAC® molecules, a new class of precision-engineered drugs with ultra-high affinity for intracellular cancer targets. ImmTAC molecules naturally recognise cancer cells and cause their destruction through re-directing and activating the patient’s own immune system. This novel class of immunotherapy has the potential to treat a broad spectrum of diseases with high unmet medical need, not only cancers, but also infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune Disease Principal Scientist Job Requirement @ Immunocore UK

Immunocore Limited is an innovative, dynamic biotechnology company developing a unique platform of T Cell Receptor (TCR)-based therapeutics, called ImmTAC™ as a novel class of cancer treatments. With major partnerships (Genentech, GlaxoSmithKline, MedImmune and Eli Lilly) and our first drug candidate in clinical trials we continue to expand our potential by exploring new applications for engineered TCRs, including the investigation of new treatments for Autoimmune diseases.

Controlling the activity of the immune system could have a profound effect on Autoimmune diseases and be harnessed as a treatment. Do you have a proven scientific track record in autoimmune disease biology and the ambition to generate novel drugs?

We are seeking CELL BIOLOGISTS AND IMMUNOLOGISTS to join our vibrant, fast-moving and multi-disciplinary team; responsibilities include:

  • Developing assays to probe the biology of T cells in the context of autoimmunity
  • Characterisation of Autoimmune-directed drug candidates
  • Validation and preclinical profiling of more advanced candidates
  • To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have technical proficiency in the area of cell biology, including design and execution of immunoassays (ELISPOT, Cell killing, Cell proliferation) and in flow cytometry.
  • Experience with organoid / explant cultures or in microscopy are desirable.

You should be a skilled problem-solver who can design complex experiments to address project-relevant questions and report findings in a clear and concise fashion. You will be an excellent communicator and confident presenter, with good time- management skills and the ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team.
