The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster, Department of Cell and Developmental Biology (Prof. Dr. Hans R. Schöler) invites applications for a Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist / Postdoctoral Scientist (position-code 05-2018).

The position
We are looking for a self-motivated, organized and creative bioinformatician to work in close cooperation with experimental biologists in the group. The bioinformatician will analyze and integrate multiple types of next generation sequencing (NGS) data including RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, and ChIP-Seq. The bioinformatician is also expected to advise other group members about experimental design and data analysis.

The research projects are related to uncovering molecular mechanisms underlying transcription factor-mediated reprogramming and identifying factors involved in the maintenance and establishment of pluripotency.

Your profile

  • An ideal candidate has a PhD in bioinformatics, with previous experience in functional genomics data analysis and a solid understanding of the related statistics.
  • A sufficient understanding of biology is essential in order to allow smooth cooperation with experimental biologists.

Our offer
The position is initially available for two years with the possibility of extension, starting from April 2018 or later. All conditions for the employment will be according to the regulations of the contracts for the civil service (TVöD, Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst) level 13 TVöD.

The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine offers a dynamic, international and multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art transgenic, imaging, genomics and proteomics equipment and core facilities.
