Post-doctoral assistant area of experimental oncology – 2016AAPFGGWEX267

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking to fill a full-time vacancy for a post-doctoral assistant at the Center for Oncological Research in the area of experimental oncology, with a strong interest in tumor immunology and immunotherapy for solid tumors.

Job description

  • You contribute to performing research and teaching in the Center for Oncological Research (CORE).
  • You become an expert in tumor immunology and immunotherapy for solid tumors.
  • You apply for research grants.
  • You mentor PhD students and guide them both in performing experiments and in writing.

Profile and requirements

  • You hold (or get during the application period) a doctoral degree (PhD) in (bio)medical sciences or a related discipline.
  • You have research expertise that fits into the research focus of CORE, expertise in tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy is a strong asset.
  • Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy.
  • Your teaching style corresponds to the educational vision of the university.
  • You are driven, talented in organising and writing, quality-oriented, conscientious, creative, ambitious and cooperative.
  • Experience with pathological techniques (molecular and histochemical), flow cytometry, liquid biopsies, biomarker identification and/or combination therapies is an asset.

We offer

  • an appointment as a post-doctoral assistant for a period of three years, with a possibility of renewal for a further three-year period after positive evaluation;
  • the date of appointment will probably be 1 February 2017;
  • a full time gross monthly salary ranging from € 3.974,32 – €6.195,62;
  • a challenging and stimulating working environment.
