Job Description

This is a full-time Internship opportunity from June – August 2017

This project is to examine the innovative methods of borrowing historical data to increase the power and efficiency of a clinical study, using the data from the completed SMA studies at Biogen, which led to the first regulatory agency approval of treatment to SMA. We have different data sources of the infantile-onset SMA patients, including the pivotal two-arm trial, one single arm trial and one natural history data source. These different data sources consist of the richest information regarding infantile-onset SMA. We have fitted a pre-planned Bayesian hierarchical model on this dataset. We would like work with the intern to expand the ongoing work, exploring alternative cutting edge models to explore this data. For example, the commensurate prior can applied in this setting, and different power priors can be used for sensitivity analysis.
