Main Advert Text The Drug Development Unit/Cancer Biomarkers Team has a vacancy for a scientific officer to work in our circulating tumour cell and molecular characterisation programs.

The applicants should have experience in a range of basic molecular & cellular biology techniques and experience in developing assays. Familiarity with contemporary approaches to target validation and drug discovery are desirable. They should have an interest in cancer, and have good laboratory and analytical skills with experience of working in a collaborative environment.

This is an ideal opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic scientist to join a dynamic research team with excellent collaborators and facilities at a highly recognised institute.

The position will be offered on a full-time basis. Appointments will be on a fixed term contract for one year in the first instance, and the salary will be on the SO scale (£25,024 – £25,949 p.a. inclusive) depending on experience. This post benefits from generous annual leave entitlement and a defined benefit pension scheme.
