The company is looking for QA/QC Leader (m/f)* to be based in Lote Site.

Functional Area: DAS Operations

Purpose: The Crop Protection QA/QC Site Leader, working in conjunction with Production and Operations Leaders and local Regulatory managers, leads the implementation of corporate standards, operating procedures, training, internal auditing, and analytical technology across DAS facilities at a site, to ensure DAS’ compliance with regulatory requirements and quality of Crop Protection products for the DAS Crop Protection business. This role has responsibility and authority to ensure that management systems related to quality are implemented and followed at all times and for the safe, accurate, and cost-effective operation of all quality control testing of DAS Crop Protection products.

Accountability: The Site QA/QC leader reports to the Regional QA/QC Leader. The incumbent is accountable for site Crop Protection quality and compliance considerations for Crop Protection Operations. The incumbent has management and accountability for all relevant local operations and budgets.

Impact: This function supports the site operations with anticipated revenues ~ $100MM annually. The objective of the site organization is to prevent highly costly and public quality issues which have resulted in very significant events in the industry. Corporate cost of these issues could be ranged from $10MM to one billion dollars.

Job Function Contribution

  • Ensure consistent implementation and maintenance of the business/site quality programs and compliance with global business standards for Quality, Product Integrity and Manufactured Product Regulatory Compliance which align to the Business Quality Strategy at the plant/department level. Ensure alignment with site strategies and ensure that requirements and business needs are met through efficient use of local resources and consideration of technical and business issues. Implement and track metrics and objectives to monitor site performance and utilize to review compliance and quality status with site leaders (Production/Supply Chain/GAPS/A2P).Report on the performance of the Quality System at the Management Review and make recommendations for improvements of the system.
  • Lead and manage the Site QA/QC organization. Lead all people processes to ensure the development of staff to meet current and future company needs. Ensure functional excellence is continuously developed and personal growth of all staff occurs. Participate in appropriate local PDT to enable people processes. Ensure plant personnel are trained on the use of Quality/Compliance tools and processes to achieve plant/department goals.Must act within framework of operating budget limits. Has delegated authority to authorize maintenance request and purchase orders to the Quality Control Cost Centre. Has controlling impact on selected capital projects
  • Provide leadership to the Quality Control laboratory to meet the needs of the production facilities, ensuring the analytical results provided are precise and delivered with a minimum of delay.Ensures adequate stocks of laboratory supplies and instrument/equipment spares are maintained to minimize unplanned downtime for laboratory instruments; and develop and implement the instrument replacement strategy. Review and ensure up-to-date methods, records, results, and production and raw material specifications are maintained.Evaluate and implement new/improved analytical systems, methods and laboratory processes as required. Lead implementation of the Analytical Strategy and Analytical Work Process at the site.
  • Lead site Quality Team to: record and evaluate KPI; manage the self-assessment programme to assure conformance to ODMS section 7; resolve customer complaints and quality unplanned events.Interface with external customers, suppliers and R&D to flawlessly execute new product introductions and to address issues with product/service qualityLead effort within plant team to monitor plant conditions and analytical results to identify opportunities to improve plant productivity, reliability, and product quality/consistency.
  • Ensure quality team to maintain the stock registers for the pesticides produces and sold. Ensure Daily entries of total quantity produced, consumed, despatched and end stock at the end are done in these registers. Ensure all the data in these registers is compiled and a monthly report is prepared before the end of each monthly. Ensure submit these register and monthly report various government offices. Liaison with insecticides inspector during their visit to Plant.As DAS Indian declared a person responsible for the quality of the products produced by the DAS India. Attend the courts where the case is filed against DAS India if DAS product is failed to meet specification when it is sampled and analysed by authority
    Lead and manage External manufacturing quality compliance in India, carry out QuEHST assessment for on boarding and existing EM partners; lead the implement DAS quality standard in EM partners. Lead the quality UPE management happened in EM partner.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Minimum Master degree in Chemistry.
Phd qualification will be of advantage

Technical/ Functional Knowledge:

  • Around 12-15 years total industry experience with direct experience in crop protection business and product use, an advantage.
  • ~ 4-5 years experience with Quality Management Systems, e.g., ISO and practice in analytical chemistry.
  • Knowledge of Dow/ DAS Quality Control procedures including procedures for setting specifications and product release is necessary.
  • A good knowledge of the country regulatory requirements and analytical science is needed.

Organizational Knowledge: The incumbent needs to be familiar with DAS R&D, Operations and Commercial organizations and the roles played by each function in the Crop Protection Quality assurance process.

Innovation: An ability to think ‘out of the box’ to develop novel, creative solutions for quality assurance challenges is critical, as innovation will be the key to future breakthrough improvements in Crop Protection development and production.

Interpersonal Effectiveness:Negotiate conflicting cross-functional and customer issues. Negotiate for needed resources to result in win-win outcomes. Build relationships outside the workgroup that enhance the performance of the teams.

Leadership: People leadership experience and proven skill is critical, as this role is expected to set a leadership example and to represent the site external stake holders. Demonstrated ability to lead teams to ensure alignment with demonstrated objectives and company goals/policies.
