Additional Information

Purpose
To develop computational methods for modeling the structure and function of nanoparticle catalysts, and to model catalytic reactions at nanoparticles to help design better catalysts.

Essential Functions

Computational modeling at the level of the electronic structure. Computational modeling of reaction dynamics. Writing up results for publication. Preparing proposals for submission to funding agencies.
Marginal/Incidental functions
Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry. At least three years of experience post-PhD with experience in computational modeling of reaction dynamics. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in density functional theory, transition state theory, and kinetic Monte Carlo.
