The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry is one of the leading research institutes within the fields of biochemistry, cell- and structural biology, and biomedicine. With its eight scientific departments, about 25 research groups, and a staff of around 850 people, the institute is one of the largest institutes within the Max Planck Society.

We are inviting applications for a position as Application Scientist (m/f/d), Next-Generation-Sequencing (NGS).

Genetics Application Scientist Position @ Max Planck Germany

We are looking for an experienced scientist to join our established NGS service team. You will expand our portfolio of NGS applications to match the increasing demand for NGS service at our institute. Data analysis will be in close collaboration with the bioinformatics service group. You will be expected to stay abreast of changing technology, including equipment and protocols.

You have experience with Next-Generation Sequencing workflows, ideally from a facility setting. Previous experience with automation/liquid handling and bioinformatics would be considered beneficial. You will act as the customers’ primary contact to this service, in an international environment, and we expect a high level of initiative.

The salary level will be according to TVöD (Bund) (public salary scale). The initial contract will be for two years, with the possibility for extension into a permanent assignment.
