Job Description

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 427680) – Post-Doctoral Researcher to pursue research training and experience under the direction of a scientific mentor within the Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research; conducts research on the role of the gut microbiome in chemotherapy-induced cancer behavioral comorbidities; pursues basic and clinical research to understand the potential relationship between the gut microbiome and behavior in the context of cancer; identifies and selects research problems to be studied; performs experiments; collects and analyzes data; prepares research results for professional publication; presents seminars on research findings; participates in writing grant proposals

Education and Experience

Doctoral degree in a biological or health sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Applicants must hold a recently completed Ph.D. (within the last 2 years) and have a strong background in immunology/inflammation, psychobiology, neuroscience, or microbiology; demonstrable publication record preferred; experience with rodent cancer models, rodent behavioral testing, tissue culture, and standard immune and molecular biology techniques are desirable. Requires successful completion of a background check.

Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
