JRF Life Science Job Vacancy | SERB (DST) Project @ Bose Institute, Kolkata: The institute has evolved over the years into a multi-disciplinary research organization with stress on fundamental research in its pursuit of advancement of knowledge in Science and technology and at the same time developing highly competent and able scientific manpower for the country. The institute has on its staff highly qualified and experienced scientists working in the field of Biological, biochemical, Chemical and Physical sciences placed in long established departments of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biophysics, and the research sections on plant Molecular & Cellular Genetics, Animal Physiology, Immunotechnology and Environmental science.

Bose Institute, Kolkata, invites application from the Indian Citizens for one (01) temporary post of Junior Research Fellow in the SERB(DST) sponsored project entitled “Evaluating the sensor kinase MtrB of Mycobacterium tuberculosis as a regulator of bacterial physiological responses, and as a potential target for therapy” under the guidance of Prof. Joyoti Basu, Department of Chemistry.

Post Title: Junior Research Fellow

Project Title: “Evaluating the sensor kinase MtrB of Mycobacterium tuberculosis as a regulator of bacterial physiological responses, and as a potential target for therapy”

Funding Agency: SERB (DST)

No. of Posts: 01 posts

Tenure: The project is tenable upto 18.03.2019.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. / M.Tech. degree in any branch of Life Sciences with NET** qualification.

Fellowship:

  • Rs. 25,000/- p.m. plus admissible HRA except CSIR-UGC NET-LS.
  • Rs. 12,000/- p.m. plus admissible HRA for CSIR-UGC NET-LS *

Age: Below 28 years as on the day on which the application is made. (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates only as per rules)

* Payment of revised fellowship to CSIR-UGC NET-LS is under consideration of the Government

** As per SERB Office Memorandum No. SB/S9/Z-01/2015 dated 07.01.2015, the following examinations conducted by various Central Government Departments / Agencies are considered as National Eligibility Test (NET).

  • CSIR – CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test including LS
  • MHRD – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Joint Admission Test (JAM), Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT)
  • DBT – Biotechnology Eligibility Test & Test conducted in Bioinformatics by Bioinformatics National Consortium (BINC)
  • DAE – JEST & JGEEBILS, NBHM
  • ICMR – JRF Entrance Examination
  • ICAR – All India Competitive Examination (AICE)
