Hourly paid PhD fellow in Medicinal Chemistry

The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology is offering a position as hourly paid PhD fellow in Medicinal Chemistry Research. The position is financed by the Lundbeck Foundation. The position is available from 1 April 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Required qualifications
As an applicant you must have:

  • Obtained a Master´s degree in medicinal chemistry or related research area prior to the starting date
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills

Preferred qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in organic chemistry and with documented experience of synthesizing and characterizing the natural product YM-254890.

Job description

The tasks may consist in dissemination, research, teaching, library assignments, or other specialist’s assignments (except administrative tasks), which may relieve the other scientific staff.

The successful applicant is also required to be enterprising and to possess good interpersonal skills

Formal requirements

  • The successful applicant should preferably be enrolled as a PhD student OR will be requested to formally apply for enrolment as a PhD student at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences according to the rules stipulated in the Ministerial order on the PhD programme at the universities (PhD order) from the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Higher Education and the guidelines for the PhD programme at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
  • The PhD student is expected to be affiliated to the graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy.

Terms of employment

  • The position as an hourly paid PhD fellow is available for 5 months with an average number of working hours of 5.77 per week.
  • The employment is made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), appendix 5 C.
  • The hourly salary is DKK 202.64 (1 April 2014) (taxable).
