The Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences is seeking to fill a full-time (100%) vacancy in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of Pharmaceutical Microbiology

Job description

  • You contribute to research in the field of pharmaceutical microbiology.
  • You are responsible for the in silico and practical evaluation of different rapid/alternative microbial technologies for sterility testing, bioburden testing, water testing and/or environmental monitoring.
  • You assess different technologies, and design and execute feasibility and validation experiments for selected technologies to determine their applicability in a (bio)pharmaceutical testing environment.
  • You develop an implementation strategy to introduce the novel technology into GMP qualified laboratories taking into account regulatory requirements.

Profile and requirements

  • You hold (or get during the application period) a doctorate degree (PhD) in Bioscience Engineering, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences or similar, with a strong expertise in the field of microbiology.
  • Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy.
  • You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.
  • You have strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • You are fluent in academic English (speaking and writing). Ability to speak Dutch is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of GMP and previous experience in a GMP laboratory environment is an asset.
  • Have high moral standards and assure scientific quality
  • Ability to work independently yet also a good team player in an international setting
