Salary

£28982 to £37768 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Protein Chemistry | Research Fellow Position @ University of Nottingham

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a 3 year Leverhulme Trust funded Post-Doctoral Researcher position in protein chemistry and structural biology. The successful applicant will have a proven track record in molecular biology and cloning techniques and in the application of NMR and other biophysical/biochemical techniques applied to protein structural analysis and characterisation.

The post will be split between several sites at the School of Veterinary Science and Medicine on the Sutton Bonington Campus, in the Centre for Biomolecular Sciences on University Park and in the Queen’s Medical Centre.

The main duties of the successful applicant will be

(i) to develop phage-display libraries of protein molecules designed for linkage-selective recognition of polyubiquitin chains,

(ii) to characterise these interactions using NMR structural and biophysical techniques and

(iii) develop functional screens and cell-based assays. The three collaborating laboratories in this project have expertise in all of these areas.

The post is available as soon as possible from June 2016.
