Senior Research Associate/Research Associate, Molecular & Cell Biology

Job Summary

We are looking for a self-motivated and technically skilled Senior Research Associate/Research Associate to join the RCT Engineering team in the Platform department. This role will focus on the development and testing of novel gene delivery strategies to optimize the production of Red Cell Therapeutics (RCTs). The candidate will work directly with a team of scientists to advance the Rubius gene delivery platform to deliver cell therapy pipelines in multiple disease areas. The candidate will plan and execute in vitro experiments, establish standard protocols, and work independently on various aspects of the Rubius platform projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform RNA/DNA analysis, qPCR, protein analysis, intra- and extra-cellular staining, plasmid cloning, and sequence modifications
  • Develop and evaluate therapeutic gene delivery techniques, DNA, RNA vectors, nanoparticles
  • Mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and fluorescent microscopy
  • Experienced with FlowJo, ImageJ, and advanced MS Excel software is preferred
  • Analyze data and report results to scientific and management teams/meetings
  • Plan and execute experiments and analyze data independently

Education & Experience

  • BS, MS or equivalent in the biological sciences or related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant laboratory experience, pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting preferred
  • Familiar with concepts of gene expression, transcription, translation, cell biology, stem cells biology
  • Strong molecular/cellular biology skills, as well as experience with RNA/DNA modification
  • Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and technical environment
  • Attention to detail, critical analysis of data and troubleshooting abilities are required
  • Highly motivated, comfortable with multitasking, excellent communication, and presentation skills
  • Execution focused, team oriented, with strong work ethic
