Research interests should focus on microbial evolution and/or microbial systematics and using genomics tools (e.g., de novo genome analysis, genomic comparisons of novel bacterial groups) and innovative bioinformatic approaches. A proven track record with the isolation and cultivation of novel microorganisms is desired. The candidate will be expected to establish an internationally competitive, externally-funded research group and will likewise contribute to strategic developments at both the Leibniz Institute DSMZ and TU Braunschweig.

Requirements:

  • A PhD and relevant research activity with outstanding academic achievement (habilitation or equivalent) are required in accordance with § 25 NHG.
  • The candidate is additionally expected to participate in undergraduate and graduate instruction at TU Braunschweig. Proof of degrees held (e.g., diplomas and/or transcripts) must be provided with the application.
